Terry Gomes, President and CEO of Canyon Electric, is a study in persistence and determination. “If I can do it, anyone can”.
Ms. Gomes dreamt of owning her own electrical business and with limited funds, she started Canyon Electric in 1986 primarily as a service and repairs company. She took out an ad in the yellow pages, bought some tools and a service van, employed one serviceman and the phone began to ring. By the end of her first year, Ms. Gomes had four service trucks on the road.
In 1995, Ms. Gomes received her General Contractor’s license and began bidding on federal work. During the past several years, Canyon Electric has worked for agencies such as GSA, DOE, DOD, BOR, NSTEC, Bechtel SAIC and the VA.
Today, Canyon Electric is one of the largest electrical service contractors in the Greater Las Vegas Valley.
